Subject Description
This subject provides students with an introduction to the field of Human Resource Management (HRM). It aims to show that HRM is a central and strategic organisational activity that has evolved over time as the nature of work and the workplace has changed and developed. Students are introduced to the responsibilities of the human resource function, the foundational theories and assumptions that underpin practice and the basic principles and techniques of human resource management. Contemporary issues within the HRM profession and an international context for HRM are critically examined.Textbook(s)
