Subject Description
This subject will provide students with an introduction to the Australian legal system and to areas of the law relevant to doing business in Australia, including the law relating to business structures, contract law, the law of torts, the law of agency, property law, competition and consumer law. A comparison will be made of legal systems that operate in countries other than Australia, and the implications of the differences in these systems for doing business internationally, will be examined. Students will acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to identify, analyse and resolve legal issues from factual scenarios and to identify situations where it is appropriate for legal matters to be referred to a legal professional.Textbook(s)
