Dess Pearson
Dr Dess Pearson worked for three decades with the government in policy advising roles. His research, analyses, and briefings contributed to the removal of tariffs on many items, such as coarse grains, dairy products, wool, and fruit by trading partners both bilaterally in free trade agreements and multilaterally, all contributing to enhanced Australian exports.
Dr Pearson now teaches economics, climate change, international business, international trade and investment, and WTO and FTA trade negotiations across several institutions in Australia, Singapore, China, and Europe. In addition to academic lecturing, Dr Pearson provides advice to organisations, universities, companies, and government agencies on aspects to WTO and FTA trade negotiations, and on trade policy and the environment, including environmental protection policies and activities.
Dr Pearson graduated with a degree in Economics from Melbourne’s La Trobe University, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Public Policy, and a Masters’ in Management from the Australian National University in Canberra. He also holds an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School, and a Doctorate (DBA) from the Alfred Noble Open Business School in Zurich, Switzerland.
