ADMISSIONS CRITERIA

To be considered for admission to a course or subject at AIHE, an applicant must meet AIHE’s minimum admission requirements, including any course-specific admission requirements. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to a course. Students admitted to a course will have the English language proficiency, age, and academic preparation and skills to succeed in their course within the standard duration.
International Applicants

Academic Requirements

All applicants must:

  • Be a minimum of 18 years of age prior to course commencement

Bachelor of Business:

  • Have a formal qualification considered equivalent to an Australian Year 12. International applicants should refer to the list of overseas qualifications accepted by AIHE for entry into the Bachelor of Business degree.

Master of Business Administration (MBA)

  • Satisfactory completion of a Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7 or higher) or an international equivalent is required. Learn more about the ways you can meet this criteria by viewing our Admission Policy
  • International equivalencies for an Australian Bachelor degree are assessed on an individual basis and will depend on the duration, institution and country of the degree awarded

Graduate Certificate in Management (GCM)

Academic Requirements (All students)
An Australian Bachelor’s Degree or an international

Qualification equivalent to AQF level 7 or,
An Australian Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree or an international qualification equivalent to AQF level 6, plus 2 years’ of
  • Industry experience at supervisory level or,

At least five years’ industry experience which

  • Includes at least three years’ management/ supervisorial experience.

Applicants with Higher Education Study
Applicants who have undertaken any higher education study within the last ten years since leaving school, may be eligible for admission to an AIHE course with credit transfers (advanced standing).

Applicants with Vocational Education and Training (VET) Study
Applicants who have undertaken any VET study within the last ten years since leaving school may be eligible for admission to an AIHE course with credit transfers (advanced standing). For more information on this process, see Course Credit/Recognition of Prior Learning.

Mature Age Students
Applicants with Work and Life Experience
AIHE understands that preparation for study is not restricted to formal educational attainment and that valuable intellectual and skills development can be gained through wide-ranging experiences. We will review applications on a case-by-case basis from persons of at least 21 years of age, who do not have formal qualifications for entry but who seek admission to courses on the basis of their educational and skills development through experience and informal study.
