Purpose

Strategic product development and institutional growth

The Strategic Product and Growth Committee (SPGC) is a sub-committee of the AIHE Council. The Committee supports management and provides strategic advice to Council on matters relating to academic product development, market positioning and institutional growth.

Functions

  • Provide strategic input on proposed new programs, courses and product development and make suggestions regarding possible new initiatives.
  • Consider market opportunities and demand trends relevant to AIHE’s offerings.
  • Advise on student growth strategies, including recruitment markets and pathways.
  • Provide input on strategic partnerships and collaborations that support growth.
  • Review strategic initiatives or business cases related to product development and market expansion.
  • Provide advice and recommendations to Council where appropriate.

The Committee operates as a working forum to support management, enabling ideas and proposals to be discussed and refined before consideration by Council.

Membership

Membership is for two years with an option to renew for a second term. The Committee will comprise three Council members appointed by Council, one of whom will serve as Chair. The CEO will be in attendance at each meeting. The Committee may invite other members of management or external advisers to attend as required.

Meetings

The Committee will meet at least four times per year, or more often as required. A quorum is a majority of members. If the Chair cannot be present at any meeting, the Chair will nominate another member to act as Chair of that meeting. One member will be selected to take notes at each meeting.

Reporting

The Chair will report to Council following each meeting and present any recommendations of the Committee.

Authority

The Committee has no decision-making authority unless delegated by Council.

Review
